VODAFONE – THE CAMPAIGN FOR THE ESC

The Brand Orchestra handled Vodafone’s communication surrounding the Eurovision Song Contest in Düsseldorf. In collaboration with our partner agencies ROBOT and Hello White Parrot, TBO developed an AudioGuide that presented ESC fans with the most interesting stories about the stars of the Düsseldorf contest — country by country — via a telephone hotline and online. Throughout Düsseldorf, our country hotlines were promoted, allowing people to listen to the most exciting stories via mobile phone or on the internet: notable facts, quirky anecdotes, and memorable moments from over 50 years of ESC history.


The campaign was staged in a multimedia format with 18/1 posters, city lights, infoscreens, promotions, Edgar cards, an online microsite, and iPhone/iPad applications.


Result: Thanks to the high number of calls and the strong participation of fans on social media platforms and in voting activities, Vodafone enabled fans to experience a completely new and exciting way to engage with the Eurovision Song Contest.
