The Bundesliga and Bundesliga 2 concluded an extraordinary season with an equally extraordinary message to their fans. In a one-minute film, German professional football expressed its gratitude for the patience, strength, and loyalty shown by supporters throughout the 2020/21 season — a season in which, due to the COVID-19 pandemic, fans were largely unable to attend matches in the stadiums.

The film is accompanied by “Extinguish My Eyes” (Lösch mir die Augen aus), a renowned poem by the celebrated poet Rainer Maria Rilke, creating an emotional and deeply moving tribute to the enduring bond between football and its fans.
